Belron® Supply Chain triumph at European Supply Chain Excellence Awards
On Thursday 12th November the Belron® Supply Chain function scooped the award for 'Best Team' at the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards. Delegates from Canada, the US and the Group Supply Chain Development Team attended a glittering ceremony hosted by BBC current affairs and politics presenter, Jonathan Dimbleby at Grosvenor House hotel in London.
The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards have been running for over 10 years now. Their purpose is to recognise and reward organisations that demonstrate excellence in their respective supply chains. This year the Belron® entry was based on project VISTA – the North American supply chain review.
Belron® beat tough competition from British Sky Broadcasting, Carlsberg UK and Procter & Gamble in the 'Best Team' category. The Award jury commented on Belron® winning the award: "the project encompassed truly outstanding consumer research and supply chain modelling techniques to optimise the end-to-end supply chain. The level of teamwork spanning two continents was exemplary."
Markus Schmidt, Director of Supply Chain Development, comments on Belron® receiving the prestigious award: "I'm very proud of the fact that our work has been recognised as outstanding. Project VISTA has been a team effort of 40 individuals working together developing strategies and recommendations for the North American supply chain. It is fantastic that the jury recognised this."
Peter Alessi, Vice President Supply Chain and Franchising in Canada, comments: "The development and planning of a project such as VISTA with international collaboration is in itself a milestone. To be recognised by receiving such a prestigious award is the icing on the cake."
Dino Lanno, Vice President Supply Chain & Manufacturing, US comments: "As leaders of our company we all know the importance of teamwork, and great people... and this award recognises the Belron® Supply Chain for the importance it places on people in our business."
