Welcome to the SOBC Afrika Tikkun Team

We are thrilled to welcome Simphiwe, Lebohang, Vincent and Onike to the UK.

The four young people from Afrika Tikkun, Belron’s global charity partner, will be competing at the Spirit of Belron Challenge on Saturday 22 September. They will be joined by over 1,700 Belron employees who will be running, swimming and cycling for Afrika Tikkun.

Our fab four have been training hard and are very excited to be representing Afrika Tikkun at this amazing event. Good luck everyone!

Introducing our Afrika Tikkun ambassadors

Vincent is 18 years old and wants to be a health psychologist. He’s been with Afrika Tikkun for two years. Vincent loves maths, pizza and his proudest moment is being the best chess player in grade 7! Vincent will be cycling at SOBC.

“I have a passion for helping others and I am also fascinated by what makes people tick. It’s my dream to work with people”

Lebohang is 16 years old and lives with her grandparents in South Africa. She loves books, chocolate, singing and dancing and is hoping to become an Optometrist. Lebohang is really excited about being an Afrika Tikkun ambassador and can’t wait to meet everyone at SOBC where she will be running in the Team Triathlon.

“Going overseas is a life time opportunity and I will make sure I play my part.”

Onike is 16 years old and lives with her Mum and younger brother. She wants to be a lawyer and hopes one day to be the president’s lawyer – we’re all for dreaming big! Her proudest achievement is becoming an Afrika Tikkun amabassador for SOBC and she’s really looking forward to meeting people from other countries. Onike will be running at SOBC.

“I want to do law because there is suffering and inequality that is still happening in our country and I want to change that.”

Simphiwe hopes to be an artist or an actor and is studying hard to make his dreams come true. He loves school – his favourite subjects are Geography and Tourism – but he hates getting up in the morning! Simphiwe will be cycling at SOBC.

“I would like to pass on my gratitude to Afrika Tikkun for helping me to realise my abilities and for motivating me to pursue my dreams.”
