Frieda joined the company 41 years ago in the hot summer of 1976 as the second member of staff at Leroi, a family business in building and vehicle glazing, which later became Carglass®. In the early years she did a bit of everything: administration, stock replenishment, client reception, order confirmations, invoicing and answering clients’ calls.
In 1990 she took charge of the customer contact centre and in 1992 she was involved in setting up the 24-hr service, which was a brand-new concept at the time. Throughout her career, she has given clients and colleagues the five-star treatment. She firmly believes that everyone is an essential part of customer service, regardless of whether you are a fitter or a director, work days, nights or at the weekend.
From 1998 she became a part-time night operator at the weekend, and looked after her family in the daytime. For six years she answered night-time calls from her own home!
In September, she ended her 41-year career in style: taking part at the Belron Triathlon in London. It had always been her dream to participate. Before she retired, Frieda was presented with a “Local Hero 2017” award by Carglass® Benelux.
