Sarah’s appointment was a turning point for Accounts Payable (AP). The department had been having difficulties for a while, leading to a review of the structure and the decision to appoint a new AP Manager. Fourteen months on and it’s a completely different picture. Sarah is passionate, enthusiastic, motivated, friendly and, above all, caring. She cares about her job and what she delivers, and she cares about her team and the wider business. One day, when an otherwise perfectly reliable temp failed to show up for work and couldn’t be contacted, Sarah instinctively knew something was wrong. Aware that the individual suffered from a medical condition, she took it upon herself to drive to their house, hoping to put her mind at rest. She knocked on the door, peered through windows and even climbed a ladder to try to establish if anyone was home. In fact, the person wasn’t at home but was in difficulty - they’d fallen in the car park and were unconscious, Sarah’s instinct had been right and her caring nature meant that she couldn’t just ignore it. A fantastic quality to have.
